SEPTEMBER 17TH 22ND 2019

E RAID is an event reserved for cars powered by an electric engine, regularly sold on the territory of the European Community. It will take place from 17 to 22 September 2019, covering the roads of center Italy. There are four stages on different days. The energy consumption of the individual cars will be recorded in order to detect the strategies and the ability of the crews to enhance the energy efficiency of the vehicle.
The cars, in the absolute respect of the rules provided for the circulation, will cover roads of various nature, crossing the squares that have made the world the image of the Renaissance splendor.

Each stage will have a distance between 184 and 346 km.  Participants will be provided with a roadbook which they must follow to ensure that they pass through the control points provided. To replenish energy, participants, thanks to the use of a particular card, will access the top-up only at the columns indicated by the organization along the route. The location and characteristics of the thousands of available columns will be available through an app provided upon departure. The crews will have the freedom to decide when and how to use this network. The recharge times and the amount of energy drawn will be detected through the software supplied by the technical partner that manages the network of the columns provided for refilling the cars.
Each crew will be constantly connected with the control room of the event, where the route will be followed in real time. This will allow the organization to talk with the participants at any time, to check the exact location of the cars on the routes, to ensure that the top-ups are performed only at the columns belonging to the partner’s network. The crews will have the right to manage the journey times along the entire route, without neglecting tourist-cultural opportunities which will be illustrated and suggested by the organization. For the purpose of reading the data collected, based on efficiency, energy consumption and recharge times, the cars will be divided into two categories: up to 45kW and over 45 kW.
